Krempelwood Secure First product placement for C5

Channel 5 Set to Broadcast First Product Placements in New Cookery Series ‘Mexican Food Made Simple’

Channel 5’s new cookery series, Mexican Food Made Simple, will be the first programme to feature product placement by the broadcaster when it airs this summer. The series was funded by Mission Foods in a deal put together by advertiser-funded programming specialist Krempelwood on behalf of series producer Blink Films and Mission’s agency Brass.

Mission Foods, the Mexican-owned food company is the UK’s No.1 wrap and tortilla manufacturer with more than 60 years expertise and knowledge of producing wheat & corn tortilla products and other foods. It will be using the partnership to enhance the Mission brand in the UK and to support the launch of their new range of Mexican food products, Mission Mexican.

Mission products will feature in key episodes as part of the wider partnership which includes content creation, retail activation, multi-platform sponsorship, and further exploitation rights.

Ian Job, Marketing Director of Mission Foods said: “The AFP partnership with Mexican Food Made Simple has provided an excellent platform to tell UK consumers about our heritage in Mexican Food and provide us with exciting new product placement opportunities in a fantastic TV series.”

Rachael Wheeler, Head of Sponsorship and Branded Content, Channel 5 said: “This partnership is a great demonstration of how product placement can best work as part of a bigger partnership with forward-thinking brands”.

Dominic de Terville, Sales Director of Krempelwood said: “The ability for brands to product place in programmes they have funded has further enhanced the potency of AFP and I am delighted that we were able to help Mission be the first to take advantage of this with Channel 5.”

Dan Chambers, the show’s Executive Producer at Blink Films said: “It has been a joy working with Mission Foods.  They have enabled a great series to be made which should work well for the viewer, for Channel 5, and for Mission Foods themselves.”
