“C5 snaps up photography series”

Channel Five has ordered a new AFP series about photography – with Panasonic on board.

Blink Films has been commissioned to make 6 x 30-minute series How To Take Stunning Pictures, in which expert photographers teach tricks of the trade to amateur snappers.

Suzi Perry will present the series, which focuses on a different theme for each episode: portrait, action, celebration, landscape, holidays and animals.

Photography master classes will be provided by Martin Parr, famous for his unique photographs of the great British holiday; top celebrity photographer Harry Borden; award-winning wildlife photographer Tim Flach; wedding photographer of the year Emily Quinton; Sports photographer of the year Bob Martin and top landscape photographer Charlie Waite.

After learning from the best in the business, the amateur photographers will be sent on assignments to see if they can produce a truly standout image.

The brand partnership was brokered by advertiser-funded programme specialist Krempelwood and Panasonic’s media agency Vizeum.

It was commissioned by Andrew O’Connell, head of factual at C5. Executive producers are Dan Chambers, Debbie Searle and Stephen Marsh.

It will begin airing in mid-September.

It follows recently brokered partnerships by Krempelwood with Sharwood’s to fund Blink Film’s C5 series Chinese Food in Minutes and Castrol to fund How to Win The FIFA World Cup, produced by Sony Pictures International TV for ITV4 and a further 12 territories worldwide.
